Viral reversed smokey eye.

Makeup artist Painted by Spencer has done this look for years according to him, but I have only seen it pop up recently on SoMe. I have semi hooded eyelids due to my age so when I saw his tutorial I wanted to test it.

Pose!

Sexy and sultry indeed

It took me maybe 10 minutes, the whole look is super easy and only takes a few steps and not many products. The main point to note is blend, blend, smudge, smudge. And the focus is all at the bottom of your eyes.

The basic look is made using black, but you can use dark brown, dark blue etc.

NB: Put on your foundation after you've done this eye look as you will have to clean up underneath your eyes due to fallout etc. Use a concealer that is a tad bit lighter that what you usually wear to make the look really pop.

As always I do not edit my pictures, this is what I look like the good and the bad :)

You need:

Eye primer

A soft pigmented black eyeliner

A brown matte eyeshadow, warm, neutral or cool depending on your skin tone.

Black matte eyeshadow.

A smudge brush

A blending brush

Mascara.

Blending and smudge brush.

The eyeliner from Sleek is really good and affordable.

I used The warrior II by Juvia's

First step is to prime your eyelids, important don't forger to prime under your eyes as well as that's where the drama is happening.

Any primer will do, I use Paintpot in Painterly by Mac

Use a soft blending brush to apply the matte brown eyeshadow start at the point of your eyebrow, and blend it across and swipe and wing it out. This does not have to look perfect, just make sure the shadow is blended and keep most of the shadow at the start of the eyebrow.

This shape is important to get that sultry, sick look.

Line your waterline (just the bottom waterline) with the eyeliner, and also place the eyeliner at root of your bottom lashes.

Pack on that liner!

Use the smudge brush and start blending and smudging the eyeliner downwards quite far, make sure everything is coated in black. With a soft hand, drag the eyeliner gently out with your finger to create a subtle flick at the end on your eye. This step really is what makes the look.

Smoke it out!

Now pack on black eyeshadow to where you placed the eyeliner to make it even more black and to set it, and then use the blending brush to blend downwards and really smoke that liner and shadow out. The more you do this the better it  looks. I like to also use a very dark brown blended in there to give the eyes some dimension.

And you're done!

A nude lip goes best with a dramatic eye.

Use just a tad of whats left of your smudge brush really close to your top lashline and smudge a little color there as well.

This is my first attempt.

Once you are happy with the smoked out look, add tons of mascara. You can put on a lash if you want, personally I prefer this look without lashes. The look is all about the bottom half of your eye so lashes just takes away from that in my opinion. That's if folks, give it a go and have fun!
