Indigo Bananas again!

Got 3 more of the kick ass indie brand Indigo Bananas. There just blow my mind and are so unique and kool.

And with that said, very hard to capture on photo. Grrr.
It is what it is, addicts! But trust me, these really do need a place in your collection.
Will post the first two now.

First one is  Rez,  it's a grey & black glitter, purple duochrome base. It's a stunner. Looks like granit indoors but flashes green and lillac when light hits it. In the sun or in direct light this has the most amazing duochrome green and lillac....and the texture almost makes me want to call it a textured polish. This is badass with no top coat too. I did use one coat of HK but that didnt do it any favours, so I used my normal SV on top. Gives it a 3D-effect really. Applies lovely, go in with a thik first coat, let dry and then a medium second coat. Thats all you need for total coverage. So flipping kool!

Strong green shift.

Next is  Enchante - red & black jelly - this GLOWS blue in the dark! I had forgotten that this is a glow in the dark polish until I did this post actually. Cant wait to go to bed now. Hah. This is a very bright red jelly with black glitter. I used 3 coats in the pics and that is more than enough. The black glitter gives it some depth too. So squishy and fun! Like a strawberry smoothy or jam. The glitter applies perfect, no dabbing needed really. Give it a little time before the second coat. I am really loving this one.

Reversed stamping - The Cut Up.

Reversed stamping is a bitch.
For me at least it is. Making the decal is easy, placing it making it look good, not fun at all.
There are a few different ways of doing it, and you can google that yourself. I'm not Wikipedia.

Anyways.
Today I wanted to try something different.
But before I get into that, let me explain reversed stamping to any n00bs out there:

You need:
* A plastic cover to paint the polish on
* Polish (doh)
* Stamping equipment - I recommend plates with bold patterns.
* Top coat.
* Tweezer.
* Scissors.
* Patience.

You start by drawing a square on the plastic cover, this makes it more easy to see where to stamp and peel afterwards. Then paint in a coat of clear top coat in the square and let dry.
Stamp over the clear top coat and let dry. Now you can add colors where you want using a brush or a dotting tool. You let that dry and add another coat of clear top coat over the design (optional)
Let dry. Once dry, yet not totally dry let it still be kinda soft to the touch, peel it off with tweezers. Start in the corners and work your way in. Cut the now hand made decal to fit your nail, add a little clear top coat on the nail to help the decal stick. Pat gently with an orange stick or similar. Add a coat of top coat, let dry and you are done.

Ignore the white robots, my plastic sheet happen to have robots on it. Stamping done!

Add color where you want it.

Peel off!

What I did is a little different. I followed the normal steps up until the stamping. Once the stamping was dry, I painted the whole square with solid colored nail polish. Once dry, I peeled it off and flipped it. That way the pattern is visible from the front, and the back is a bright color. I then cut it up into different shapes, and placed it on the nail as a collage. I totally digg the result and its so much more easy to do.

Cut it up! Any shape you want! No rules!

Mixing colors and patterns.

Here I added a coat of glitter.

And then a coat of creme polish over it all.

Pretty sweet looking, huh?

Just imagine all the different ways you can do this, use a hole puncher for circles, pain the square in glitter, combine colors and patterns....just go with the flow!

Femme Fatale - Dark Angel (Exclusive to Norway Nails)

Dette er Femme Fatale - Dark Angel. Den er exclusive hos Norway Nails og er en dusty grå/lilla med linear holo. Vanskelig å få bra bilder sadly. Holo-effekten er veldig flott, men kamera ville ikke fange fargespekteret. Anbefaler dere å sjekke ut andre swatches av denne for mine bilder viser ikke hele bildet, so to speak.

 Skal jeg trekke frem en ting jeg virkelig ble imponert over, er det kvaliteten på selve lakken. Virkelig outstanding. Den glir på som en drøm og er en 1 til 2 coater. Jeg hadde denne på i 2-3 dager og den var like fin. Den sitter virkelig jævlig bra. Høy kvalitet til indie å være.

 Det er en nedtonet lakk, helt klart perfekt for jobb eller de av dere som foretrekker lakker som ikke er in your face. En litt mere moden lakk, rett og slett. Igjen, jeg må bare få skryte av kvaliteten på denne. Vel verdt pengene.

Jindie Nails.

 Denne skulle jeg lissom ha kjøpt for lenge siden, da den kom ut. Har utsatt det til nå, og jeg er nuh en glad lakkoman jeg har den i samlingen. Jindie Nails hadde konkuranse om hva denne skulle hete om mitt obskure forslag, som jeg ikke husker engang, ble altså ikke valgt. Det var helt sikkert noe ala "My insides are violet." Helt sikkert. Men navnet ble altså A History Of Violets. *zzzz* Bildene er ikke all verden, men such is life:

 En flaske stappfull av glitter i klar base, holo sirkler, firkanter, hex.....you name it. Litt av alt, i ulike toner av lilla:

 " It has a mix of white, periwinkle, lilac, lavender, wine, opaque matte burgundy, opaque matte light purple, opaque matte dark purple hex, dots, stars, short bars (just a few), squares plus intense purple & silver shimmer throughout."  

 Denne krever litt fisking og bruk dabbing-metoden for å få et jevnt resultat. Pensel er god, det er masse glitter i flasken og ikke taco-glitter what so ever. Jeg hadde et strøk Gelous over denne, plus et strøk HK siden jeg driver å tester den om dagen. Jeg kjente fortsatt tekstur og Seche Vite hadde fjernet all tekstur uten tvil.

Du vil få en helt annen look over en mørk base, jeg har OPI - Ski slope sweetie som base på bildene.

Chaos & Crocodiles - Pi R Squared

Chaos & Crocodiles is new indie brand in my collection, Pi R Squared is a fun glitter topper containing large round glitters, smaller ones and tiny shimmer in a clear base. The glitter is both holo and metallic. Swatches over Nicole By OPI - Vitamin Plus.

It's just a kool polish really, perfect for pimping up a boring mani or adding some LSD to a muted down base color.

This is a polish that needs fishing, no problem getting the glitter on the nail but the larger round ones are a tad more elusive. Use the dabbing method to get the glitter even. No taco what so ever! Flat as can be once on.

The brush is good, I find this has too much base polish actually and I might try to get some if it out to thicken the polish up a tad.

I used Gelous over this and topped it off with HK top coat.. Hardly any texture once dry.

Femme fatale!!!

Femme Fatale - Midsummer petals.
Words fail me.

I have been looking for the perfect rose gold glitter, and when I saw this over at Norway Nails I knew I had to make it mine.
This polish is so fucking stunning it went straight on to my top 10 polishes list.

Look at that holo!

Midsummer petals is as mentioned a rose gold glitter topper, it contains copper, caramel glitter , iridescence and rose pink glitters in hex and circle shapes, and those big round glitters are holo as fuck. They just look like laser beams! Indigo Bananas - Star to sail by are the undies.

I took a billion pics and nothing comes close to what this looks like in RL.
I am telling you right now, rose gold will be all the rave in less than 6 months. Trust me on that. Rose gold makeup, jewlery and polish.

This is a glitter topper, and you do need to dab it on, the glitter sets perfectly and hardly any fishing is needed. I wanted some of those big ass round ones on, so I did fish some for those. No taco glitter at all, levels so nicely. Brush super good for picking up glitter.

I am testing HK top coat these days, and under that I had a coat of Gelous. Still feel some texture, so me thinks Seche Vite is better for glitter bombs.

Indigo Bananas - You Get Nothing!

Another kick ass creation from Indigo Bananas.
You Get Nothing! is a dark, stone grey linear holo, with blue & dark red glitter. This looks kool in the bottle but freaking amazing on the nails.

You Get Nothing! is a dream to apply, smooth, evens out nicely and no need for fishing. 2-3 coats is needed depending on your preference. I have 3 on for the pics. I did use Seche Vite as top coat and can't see any dulling of the holo effect.

Truly unique.

Been wearing this for 3 days and only have slight tip wear. Wear time is great.
When applying this, do think coats and wait a little between them to let the glitter set. I added one coat of SV and I can't feel any texture.

I really cant rave enough about this brand. If I had to compare her polishes it would have to be Nerd Lacquer. This brand has some of that same unusual color combinations and interesting design ideas.
I really see Indigo Bananas being a bright star on the indie heaven. Hopefully she won't be torn down by all the catty psychos in this community. It's nail polish girls. Chillpill!
